This was a little...Thank you all for your thoughts. This was a little boy who was a friend of the Princess. He had cancer and his prognosis was not good from the start. Yet he survived for 18 months, enough time for his parents to share some fantastic experiences with him and the rest of the family. They packed a lot of living into that time.

We knew the end was near; he had essentially been asleep for the past few weeks due to the strength of the painkillers he now needed. Princess does not fully comprehend what has happened, although she did say prayers for God and Poppy to look after him when he goes up to heaven. Soccer Boy gets it totally and is very sad, even though he barely knew him. I've had to explain over and over again that this is very rare.

I think that the coming weeks will be even worse for his family than the past 18 months. The bleakness of it. Makes me shudder.

Give your kids a little extra kiss tonight.McKoalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01457446171624585099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20015448.post-57011695529742988002008-06-21T20:51:00.000-07:002008-06-21T20:51:00.000-07:00I'm so sorry.I'm so sorry.ssashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15527483283426518167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20015448.post-79660685370091695872008-06-20T14:48:00.000-07:002008-06-20T14:48:00.000-07:00A worst nightmare for anyone with children.
