Remember Elektra's crapometer?

It's looking kind of abandoned over there. My fault as much as anyone else's, I haven't visited since Christmas and I'm feeling guilty.

I sent in a story - the one I wrote for Chris' writing exercise. Why not sent yours? Or anything else! And comment, comment, comment. Because that's what it's all about.

Here's the lonely crapometer.

  2. Funnily enough, I took a look over there yesterday, havng not been since before Christmas. It was looking a little deserted. Unfortunately I just don't have time to contribute at the minute. I really hope things pick up over there because it was a great resource and a friendly crit community. I learned a lot, and two of my published pieces, as well as the WIP, debuted over there.

  3. I miss crapometer, but I think most of us are short on time. Too many projects!

  4. Yes, I learned a lot from the Crapometer too. I liked the mix of people there; some were great at critiques, others not so much, but could still give great 'real life' feedback. The readers there caught many stupidities in my various entries. It would be a shame to let it die on us.

However...SS@S, I'm the same as you. I just got involved in other things and never made it back after the holidays. Still, I see you found a moment for me; thank you and I appreciate it. Robin and Conduit, you're both off the hook, you've seen it elsewhere!

  5. Hey McK - I really didn't ever wanna stray from EE's blog - I did Chris's exercise, though, and it was a huge help- but it's a smaller, more intimate audience over there, more my style.

I do sometimes wonder, though, who all reads at EEs. I think it's easy to forget how many silent readers there are, with the community of active minions he has going on.

    And...I sent you a follow-up email, sweetie.

  7. I feel guilty about the COM too, I haven't been there in ages.

  9. My story's up and a query letter from somebody else. Looks like a couple of people are still commenting. I'll make a point of visiting regularly for a while and see if it kicks off a bit again. So if you want Koala Crits, sent your stuff in!

  10. I've looked in there a couple of times but never taken part. I guess to an extent I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up with critiquing.

Been hoping to block out more reading/writing time though and Christine's exercise made me start thinking about fiction though. So I'll try to do some reading there and get organised for a submission. Thanks for the tip :)
