Too tedious to relate, but should have the time to put up the Koala Stats tomorrow.
Anyone who hasn't reported in by the time I change the sidebar...you're on instant smackdown! Did I mention that smackdown comes with penalties? Ooops, just a little slip of memory...

I feel scared just watching!
Penalties?! Like, loss of donut privileges? Yeeps!
Oh, it's much worse than that, Mother (Re)produces.
*shudder*
I want to see a smackdown. In fact, I'd Pay to see one. In donuts!
Hi McK.
Um, I've submitted a chapter of the dissertation and done some editing. Overall, I wrote probably about 3,000 words and edited 7,000. I've also had a journal article move into "conditional acceptance".
I think that's all I can report.
Ooh, I forgot parts of chapter 4, which ended up being about 3,000 more words. So in total I wrote about 6,000 and edited 7,000.
OK, so apparently, I should figure out my actual points. I think I've got three, maybe 4. 1 point for writing 4,000 word; another point for editing; one more for the extra writing and editing over the 4,000 line; plus the journal decision. This means the Koala is coming to have a word with me, I think.
I hear paw-steps! eeeks!
Paca, I'll give you a point for submitting your chapter and a point for submitting your journal article. Plus the writing/editing points that takes you up to a massive... 5! Your furry butt is safe. For now. Others, though, should be applying themselves to the keyboard as of now...
Did I mention that smackdown comes with penalties?
Yes. You smacked me down.
I'm not sure how I should count my writing. I count the words I add, but I also taketh away because I edit while I write. So I put in the net words gained, then take out the junk and change my starting count on the story.
How many points do I get for the editing I'm doing? How does one decide on the editing stuff? I have just been counting new words, assuming that's that. But if I can legally finagle more points...
You gave me extra pointage :-)
I actually scored 4, I'm thinking you didn't want to pay for the boarding pass :-)
Written, you're not making it easy...
OK, let's say you write 4000 new words. You re-read and decide they're a bunch of trash and delete the whole lot. I'll give you the 4000, because you wrote them, but that's it. If, on the other hand, you go back to those 4000 and spend a few hours over them, editing and rewriting and generally making them more brilliant, I don't care if they end up as 2000 or 6000 - you've edited 4000 as far as I'm concerned, and you'd get another point?
Helpful?
Merry, I'll double check...
Uh oh...you're right. The Koala is more of a writer than a mathematician.
Your honesty may be remembered. But there are no guarantees.
In that case II should have double points.
