Bonus points!

This month, The Koala is awarding bonus points for thirty-word stories. Yes, a mere thirty words! Only one point is available for this - but only one point saves you from a shredding!

Allow The Koala to commence the proceedings...

When we married, my husband promised me a gold bangle for every year I remained faithful. Forty years later, his brother helped me bury him. Thirty-nine bangles jangled on my arm.

Oh. Ouch! Nice story.

Will think on this one.

Another take on an old theme.

She pointed the gun. First at his head, then his crotch.
“You don’t want to do that,” He squeaked.
“You’re right.” She flipped the gun around, and pulled the trigger.

Aw! Starts funny - ends sad! You earned your point.

The heat woke me. Smoke was snaking into my nostrils. I crawled to the door, pawed at the knob. It was locked. Maybe I should have been nicer to him.

Mica wedged himself into the wall's hollow, hoping the scratching gibberers were as cave-blind as he. The wind changed direction; his hair stood up. He was sitting in a nostril.

LOL Iasa. Nifty. A point.

JJ, have you been on the goblin juice again? A point is yours, though.

He flipped over cards, collected his chips, smiled. She glanced from the martini glass to his face, blew contemptuous smoke rings. He didn't understand - it worked for James Bond.

McKoala said...

Yeah, but you've gotta be hot like Bond, baby. One point for Pam.

Why, is my nose green?

30 words - 1 point. Sounds like a great deal!

Stone kissed the water, One-Two-Three and sliced in. Its amazing how the river can swallow anything you throw at it. Or any-one. "Burn in hell, Dad," One-two-three. Dip.

I don't know if Aniket should get a point or a smackdown. Not putting everything you've got into writing regularly is wasting all that amazing talent. Get cracking. I want to read your novel!

oho, we're lining up for the points now that the end of the month is looming, hm? hm?

Well done, Aniket. Take your point. Got any others this month?!

Doubt flickered as Lydia's candlelight extinguished in a warm breeze. She shouldn't have come here alone. She relit the candle, trembling. Then the tentacles clutched her face, drowning out her scream.

McKoala said...

Sylvia, shall we talk about the beast in the room?!

A point for you.

I love the question that that missing 40th bangle asks.
