Voices in the dark

Robin is kicking off another listening session at her place. Here is my contribution - again from The Woman in the Wall. (I'd call it a work in progress, except I haven't made any over the past couple of weeks. Work, work, work, sigh).

  2. The phrase 'eat your own words' typically has a negative connotation, but I'm going to invoke it here in a positive incarnation — these are delicious words and you read them with relish. The image of the two characters slumped in front of the TV is great.

  3. I agree, your voice is so soothing it pulls you in to this mildewy domestic situation. I see it perfectly. The poor wee bairn has joined the two in the room now … I have a feeling nothing will be the same.

  4. A piece that creates an undeniable mood, and you read it appropriately. I am amazed at how well everyone reads. I don't know why it amazes me, but this whole group has really wonderful, expressive voices. Yours is no exception.

  7. Strangely, I think you sound much more Scottish in this one.

  8. I agree with you, Conduit.

McK, you sound more like what I thought you'd sound like - I love it!

Wonderful beautiful voice - and I love that news tidbit about the skelelton, tucked in there in the end of the passage...

  9. It's how she says "house". Total Scot on that vowel. By the way, I renamed your link to Black Watch Sheila a couple weeks ago. If you'd like a different clan pattern, let me know.

  10. Great. I'm a sucker for the Scots accent, though yours doesn't have as much "burr" has some. Perhaps the Aussies have corrupted your speech?

Lovely story; I could go on listening.

  13. You do sound different on this one - I'm not sure quite what it is.

I agree with pjd - I shouldn't be amazed but I am, everyone has such great individualistic voices!
