Get those numbers in!
So far we have McK on Smackdown (whoops), JJ and Robin both on a break (surprisingly neither of you have had one yet, so I have to let you get away with it...), and Sylvia on 5 - great effort for December!
Behind the scenes I'm totting up the numbers for the year and will post the awards tomorrow.
Next year... who's up for another Koala Challenge? As ever, there will be some revision in the rules. What will they be? Commit, and I'll tell you... Oh hang on, is that not entirely fair? Remember...The Koala is Always Right!

I'm in! (For next year. Not for this month. Even though I'm almost up to 1 point--whoooooo!)
I'm still watching from the safety of lurkerdom.
I'm in for next year too!
As for December 2 subs - 2 points
almost 7300 words 2 points
for a total of 4 points.
That is better than I thought I would get since I did write a single word while I was in Belize.
Iasa: I'm sure I wouldn't have written anything either if I were in Belize!
I'm in for 2011 (awwk, that's tomorrow!).
I found 3 more agents in Dec to submit to (one wasn't open for subs until Dec 1), so I can be smug about that but it still feels like coasting at this point (especially when one, who was a way outside shot anyway genre-wise turned a rejection back in 15 minutes - 5 minutes to prepare and send and 15 minutes to receive: 20 minutes total puts me on approved? Feels like cheating!).
I did, however, manage to edit 90,000 words in real work (only 20K more to go), so that's 14 legitimate points *happy dance*
No subs for me in December, but I wrote about 12,000 new words. What's that, five points?
Definitely eager to go again next year. :) I did more submissions this year than I've ever done in my life, which is pretty awesome.
I'm not going to get any more writing done today, so I might as well total it up:
16,544 words written -- 7 pts
4 submissions -- 4 pts
TOTAL = 11 pts, yay!
Angie
Iasa: Ooh, Belize! I loved it there. Whereabouts did you go? The jungle? San Pedro?
Poor month for me as I was mostly editing. Edited about 50k worth of material and wrote maybe 5k.
No submissions as I knew agents and editors were off for the most part.
I'm definitely in for next year!
Apparently I have a deep need foe having my feet held to the fire. (Hmmmmm.Should this worry me......?)
Hi,
I've been lurking for a while now and I think I've worked up the courage to ask to join for next month, if that's okay.
JJ, i go to Cayo, which is fabulous, got the jungle and the mountains and if i want the beach i can get there easy enough for the day. I'm not a big fan of san pedro, I don't dive so i get bored pretty quick.
Phoenix, i need to learn to write when i'm there. i spend about 5 months of the yea there.
This has been the month of editing. I have no idea how to report, because 20k words are done and the rest aren't, although I've been over them several times, determining what they need.
But I do want to play for 2011. And go to Belize.
Oh. And I'm Pam. Changed something in my profile because I needed full name to show somewhere else. Sigh.
1 article submitted.
1 point.
I'm back on super-smackdown.
I'm also in for 2011.
Iasa: Very nice! We went to Belmopan to see the jungle and some caves, then went to San Pedro and lay in hammocks on the beach for a few days (we don't dive either.) I've been telling my fellow Canadians to go visit Belize ever since. :)
Ah, so this is where I report that I sucked. December (and part of Jan) was about setting up my new writing space, getting better organized, and, um, not much else.
I had the "write a bestseller" feeling yesterday, but I think it was just gas.
I'm in for this next year. Thank you, oh mighty Koala, for your stupendous efforts on our behalfs.
I notice you've not included bonus point for eating Christmas pudding.
Shame — I could have managed double figures this month.
So it's
Queries 1
Edits 1
New stuff 1
makes 3.
Like Wendy Craig.
I would have had two points if Christmas pudding counted.
I'm in for next year.
So it looks like most of you will be happy to turn over a new leaf in 2011!
Wait, there was a "new leaf turning" clause in there somewhere?!
I saved my leaf from last year!
I submitted a story and only wrote about 1500 words. But I DID actually write this month.
Oh, since I already got my award and did my happy dance. It seems pointless, but for the fear of the furry one, I'll put in one tiny-winy-lil' point for a submission.
:(
Sorry. I took December off and just now got back to checking everybody's blogs. That's me, on mega-smack, I'm afraid.
