Do-do-do-do da-da-da-da

So how was December for you? 6000 words here, but good 'uns every one. Tantalisingly close to the end of the first draft I've been working on for a while. Well, the first draft of the first draft. You know how it is.

Report in here! And, coming soon... the 2011 McKoala Awards... no guts no glory... and some of you have no guts thanks to me... I'm expecting some changes this year, with some of my most reliable Koalings failing me and some others clawing their way closer to Being Goodness.

I can't count. Make that 8000 words!

Writing: 38,298 words = 18 pts
Editing: 17,382 words = 3 pts

TOTAL = 21 pts

No submissions this month, but I'm still happy with the outcome. :)

Now you've made me come over all Sting.

Just 1 for editing and 1 for subbing this month — plus 2 for some commissioned writing.

Plus, I dressed up as Santa for some relatives. Ok, it was only a hat, and it was only for five minutes, but I *made the effort*.

Does that count?

Or are you starting 2012 meaner than ever?

I'm so glad I'm not in the challenge!

My 50k in November exhausted all my writerly goodness and all I wrote in December was a 1300 word short story. That's not even a single point!

Congrats to everyone who got points for the month!

This month I managed:

4,616 words written = 1 point
53,941 words edited = 10 points
2 stories submitted = 2 points
1 novel beta'd = 1 point

TOTAL = 14 points

On vacation this month, although I did both writing and submissions and probably would not have had to withstand any claws regardless.

I'd like to claim December as my month off. Real life has not been conducive to writing and my December word count reflects that.

10,500 words written = 3 points
30,000 words edited = 6 points
1 novel beta'd = 1

It's better than I've been doing.

I'm such a slacker.

wrote 4000 words - 1 pt
beta read friend's novel - 1 pt

Yeah. 2 points.

12,390 words edited = 2 points
1 sub = 1 point
6,111 words written = 2 points
1 novella beta read 1/2 point?

total 5, 5.5 points

Well, I wrote two and a half novels this year totalling 250,000 words, I if I divide that by twelve... I'm still slacking!

I sucked last year. But this year is different already.

Not bad, not bad.

Off to chase up those too scared to report in then I'll tot up and then I can get on with the fun part - the awards!

Sylvia said...

Er, yeah, um.

I submitted a story.

I retitled a different story, if that counts as editing.

I put out an ebook, do we get points for that?

*looks desperate*

I brought cake. You can't disembowel someone who is offering you cake.

McKoala said...

Two points, none for the cake. Bribery and corruption, pah. (Next time make it chocolate.)

A drear and dark December. filled with naught but discarded possibility.

I think I managed to write about 5,000 words of plotting on a new novel. That is all.

One point. Bad boy.
