How's the weather with you?

It's spring here. The air is thick with the smell of freshly cut grass and cicadas hum to one another across the garden. In the middle of the day my skin is clammy with sweat and when I lick my lips they taste of salt. The puppy and the kids pant, slurping water, or crunching ice blocks. You can almost hear the rustle of new growth, of the earth relaxing under the gentle sun. In a few months it will become brutal, blasting everything brittle with dryness. But for now it caresses us, slipping its warmth under our goosebumps, coaxing us outside with its tender touch.

Lucky, lucky girl!! November in the greater DC area, basically, sucks. It's not too cold yet - but it's coming.

Is it really true you guys get to grill out on Christmas Day?

The only time I was ever able to do that in the States was in the late '80s when I lived in Louisiana.

Hope puppy girl is doin' fine.

Husbad was in DC for work last month and said it was already freezing. I think he was there in a bad week though. With no overcoat.

We have Christmas with Husbad's family and they do the full roast dinner, but lots of people do bbqs or even seafood and salad. Santa gets to hang out on the beach, but the poor old thing still has to wear red fur. I have no idea how he survives.

Polly is doing great, thank you! A bit inclined to chew on everything, but we're working on it.

Next time he's in DC, girlfriend, let us know! Cl, ello and I can scare the hell out of him for you.

How's that for friendship!?

It's dull, wet, dreary and cold here. Of course. :(

I didn't know you all lived in the DC area. I'll be sure to let you know about his next trip...scary masks at the ready!

Robin and Ello and I live close to each other. What she said. (about the chilly weather, not about scaring DH!)

Glad you're enjoying the weather vibes!
