Poor me

I have to go into hospital later this week to have an operation. Nothing serious, no need to panic, just something that needs to be done and now is apparently the golden moment to do it.

I'm not looking forward to it. I seem to have a very low pain threshold. There will be moaning. I'm hoping I get some of the good-quality painkillers I got after I had Princess via the stomach slicing method. They made me very happy for an hour or so and then I fell asleep and woke up again just in time for my next dose.

Apparently I'm going to be largely out of action for two weeks. I've set up a complex play date schedule for the baby koalas that I hope all my friends remember, because I'm pretty sure Mr Koala won't. Visions of abandoned children in the schoolyard.

Kind of hoping I'll be able to stagger to my computer chair, but nothing is guaranteed.

Yeah, yeah, any excuse to avoid Paca's rainbows and teddies quiz. It might be different if I were winning....

Wow, that name change really bugged you. I would have changed it without your threatening to get yourself "operated on".

On the bright side, you've got an excuse to ask the family to do pretty much anything.

I had my gallbladder out (laporoscopically) a few years back and they gave me some wonderful painkillers that sound just like you c-section meds. I was out of hospital in a day and back on my feet in two. They told me two weeks rest as well - not a chance! A soon as they realised I was recovering quickly, it was business as usual. My advice: milk it!!

I hope you mange to to rest up. Feel better soon

I'm such a coward the thought of an operation terrifies me. I was even scared having a wart removed (painlessly) from my shoulder.

So you have all my sympathy and best wishes for it to go well for you.

I'm going to miss you in the blogosphere if you can't get to a computer.

Hope all goes well!!! Take the meds and, as janey so eloquently said, milk it! Don't push yourself too quickly...just focus on getting better.

Ditto to the milking thing. And you really should do what the doctor says anyway so you heal properly.
Here's to good meds. Happy meds.

Yep. Sounds like 'Wait on McK' time. Milk it is great advice. You might not get another chance.

Hope you feel better when you're ready and we'll be here when you get back.

*pats the poor koala*

Getting waited on may be nice, but it's not adequate compensation for just plain feeling good, so get well soon after your procedure!

I'm sure it'll all go smoothly, and I hope it isn't too sore. And I agree, be sure to exploit the situation. :)

Hope you have a decent fortnight under the circumstances & all koalalings co-operate.

Poor you. Poor me. I hurt too.

Take care of yourself and have everyone else coddle you afterwards.
