Aerin, JC, Precie? Report in! JC, once you were my star...now you're on extreme. With, um, me. I will be redeeming my ways this week, how about you?!
No idea where my badge of humiliation has gone, will track it down later. Right now I'm off to pick up my latest ebay purchase, this being, of course, the manner in which we plan to furnish giant new house. Flash, eh.

Without getting personal or depressing, I've had some recent issues to deal with. Until today in fact, I thought of resigning from this challenge and shutting down my blog.
No worries though. I've been working with some friends who are encouraging me to continue and work some things out.
I thought the Clarity of Night contest was going to be it. And then I did another piece - the one you commented on.
Other than that, I've been pretty much brain dead. But again, I have friends who are supportive and urging me not to throw in the towel.
So I'm not.
That is as long as I still have all my limbs to work with. [looks fearfully at those glistening, sharp, lethal, claws]
So how is the house selling going?
Can I retroactively invoke vacation? Otherwise, I need to go down about two levels, I think.....
Oops, sorry. I just squeaked by, I believe. I managed about 600 words of a new short story and worked on revisions of a previous short story.
JC--Hang in there. I hope things improve soon!
lol... nuffin wrong wiff yer bean, jc ;)
mc... keep doing it your way, as long as it works :)
OK. I wanna see pics of those flash E-Bay-ified rooms, girl. Ha!
JC, the Koala is entirely benevolent when it comes to personal crises, having had a few of her own. There will be no resigning. There will be benevolence and understanding. There will be no towel throwing, either in, or at other people. There will even be a bump up the rankings to a kinder, gentler status, where you may remain until crises abate.
Aerin, however...! OK then. Up one level in honour of last minute holiday plea. But no more holidays for you! Wordage! Grrrrowl!
Good Precie, purrrrr.
Sarah, auction is Saturday... Lots of friends coming to look like they're interested, not sure how many actual bidders will turn up, though! Fingers crossed. Yes, you can write with them like that.
LW, oh I will, have no fear... Robin, one day I will put up a photo of my front room, almost 100% furnished from yard sales. Good yard sales. You'll see.
Um, I should quickly explain that we moved to a four bedroom, three-living area house from a two bedroom one living area apartment. We had rooms sitting empty. I had to put something in them. Turns out that a judicious eye at a yard sale can find some more than cool stuff. And clean. It has to be clean. I'm kind of obsessive about that.
Now you're all looking good apart from me. Waaah! Must write more, must write more...
Hey, yard sale decorating is very green! Good for you! Good luck with the auction!
Is it wrong that I enjoy the purring?
Yes. And no.
I know what ya mean about mizing it up with furniture. My house is a combo of family pieces like old country chifforobes, pricey stuff I now wish I hadn't spent nney on (except for my desk - I freaking love that thing, and would spend it again), and cheap stuff from a little out-in-the-county store, made to look nice. What makes that fun is when people 'admire' these pieces. Makes me laugh. Oh, and I have the leather sofa and chair from my parent's old house - love that, because my dad had 'his spot' on one side of the sofa, and the cushion is a bit more 'cushed' on the side he claimed. My daughters adored him. They think this is the most important piece of furniture in our house.
