We can say we knew him first...

The winner of the latest contest over at Clarity of Night is our very own PJD with his great 'Sliding' - warmest congratulations to him! Previous winners have gone on to be published, so Jason has a good eye for these things. The Unlucky 26, coming to a bookstore near you, very soon.

Check out the rest of the winners too - there are some familiar names in there, including Precie, Janey, Aerin, LaughingWolf and, heh, me! It was a fun, fun contest, with so many different takes on the prompt, fascinating stuff to read and kudos to Jason for having the energy to assess all the entries. Link

Public Humiliation Challenge Wordcount: 170.

You are too kind! And hopefully prescient on the U26 thing. :-)

Congratulations on placing in the top tier! I really liked yours, too, with the black heels and the ants at the beginning. As I said already, I guess. I am still in shock that mine floated just >that< much higher than other high quality entries.

Aren't we the clever lot?!! Well done McK. I loved your entry very much. Actually I adores all the ones that Jason mentioned. As you say he has a durn good eye. And Pete The U26 or indeed The Goldminer's Daughter (or has there been a title change?) have had some special lucky dust sprinkled on them today.

Big fat YEAY!

Congratulations, McKoala! (And I'm not just sucking up to lower the Claw Threat Index.) I liked your story very much!

Thanks PJD, JC, Sarah and Wolfie. Janey, like you, I also pretty much agreed with Jason's choices. Interesting, though, that the candyman/falling shopgirl didn't feature in his list - but was the reader's choice.

Jen, there is only one way to reduce the Threat of the Claw, and you know what it is...

Interesting that so many talented writers have come together in this cyber cafe. I shouldn't be surprised. Great mind seeks each other out. :)

Great work, PJD! Your piece really was perfect. And you, McKoala, awesome job! All of the ones who placed wrote tight, effective pieces. That's talent.
