Almost a winner!

I think most of you know my good friend, Shona Snowden. I'm excited to learn that she just landed a runner up position in a writing competition over at Women on Writing - here's the link to her piece: Recreating Home.

I've got to say I don't think much of that photo; it looks like her husband took it with a pocket camera when he was in a hurry to be somewhere else. A bit more make-up next time, please, Shona.

As for the writing, that last sentence is a howler (take a deep breath before the start), but the rest reads OK to me. I'm sure she'd like to know what you think! Link

I could never love Shona as much as I love you, McK. Nevertheless, I will go read her piece and report back to you. :)

Same here, McK. I'll take a look after dinner.

That's funny, because people say we're terribly alike. It's the ears, apparently.

Oh yeah. It's definitely the ears. Awesome piece. I'll have to pop over and tell her.

The Koala could learn a thing or two about writing from Shona, even if she be a skinny lass with long beautiful locks and piercing blue eyes....
:-)

Her website is Gorgeous!! And the story about kissing a ghost, I want to know where I can buy it? It better be soon because I want to find out what happens!!

:-)

Oh, I forgot about the WOW recognition for Shona. See? Hie thee over, Koala, and let her teach you how it's done.

Pass along my congrats to Shona! Oh,and do tell her that the first sentence of that piece deserves a whole 'nother flash memoir -- maybe for the next contest?

Don't worry, McK. You'll be able to write as well as Shona ... some day.

Late in on this one, which I guess will provide you with another excuse to persecute me.

No idea why you're plugging that Snowden woman. All she's good for is complaining. Have you seen what she said on my blog a few weeks ago? After I sent her chocolate?

Normally, I woldn't mind, but what makes it especially annoying is that she's a bloody good writer...

That story is beautifully written and charming. Except the part about the stalker, of course. That's not so charming. But still beautifully written.

And I think it's a lovely photo. I think, McK, you're just jealous. And frankly, it's not becoming of such a talented and intimidating marsupial.

Oh!!! That picture is beauriful, and you need to tell Shona she's something special. And also tell her congrats!!!

Thanks all, for the thanks and compliments, have passed on to Shona and she's happy!

Whirl, she says did you notice that the whole complaint letter was actually one big thank you?

Thanks for the shout out on your blog, PJD.
