The first step: rise to something!

Aerin at In Search of Giants is hosting a writer’s challenge to foster inspiration and community. It's pretty low-pressure: 1000 words a month. At the end of the year, you'll have a total of 12,000 words, which is not even half a NaNo entry. Go here to sign up!

BONUS: If you sign up for this challenge by January 14, your entry to the Ascension Clarity of Night contest counts as all 1000 of your words for January!

Wrote about 3K words yesterday after all that whining. 1K words a month is a great idea. It would keep me writing in those days where I am having extra trouble getting pen to paper (or fingers to keypad, actually).

I am a firm believer in the power of whining as an incentivisation tool, particularly if done in public.

Yes, 1000K is very realistic. To me it means that if I've slacked off writing for a month (obviously I hope I won't!) then I will have to make myself at least write a short story in order not to be humiliated in front of my peers (nothing too painful, right Aerin?) - and that might be enough to get me going again.
