Goede morgen iedereen!

Hmmm...you've given me a great idea for Rabbit Hole Day tomorrow. Let's just say I hope my knowledge of HTML coding holds up.

Cool post!

OK I got that you lived 4 years in Amsterdam - the rest ..... sadly just the odd word and only ones that resemble german.

Great idea. I've still got nada.

Er, hi! Happy Rabbit's Hole Day! I got as far as "Today is Rabbit Hole Day".

Nice one, McK and you beat us all to it.

Heh heh. It's a time zone thing. Sarah did beat us all, though, by posting the moment she heard about it! Oh, what was that? A month ago!

Well, yes, she was very quick off the mark!

Cool! I understood a lot of that (through generous comparisons to German and a year spent living in Brussels) but I'm stuck on what you have/had in Holland. Is Mavo slang for a summer home? A marvellous time?

Certainly it's a different tone for your blog, just as described!

Is this binary?

Hah! That's great! Is this Dutch? I used to be able to understand it, spoken, because it was so close to German. I can't really understand either, anymore. I'm out of practice!

Word count for today just 141 originals. I have been doing other writing-related things though. I have not been idle. Total word count of 2,100 since Sunday.

Oh, hell - good one!

Yes, it's Dutch! (What's the resemblance to HTML JC?!)

Quick translation:

'Today is Rabbit Hole Day and that means that I have to write something a little different from my normal blog posts. So, I'm writing in Dutch. I'm sorry if this is full of mistakes, but it's over ten years since I lived in The Netherlands. I spent four years in Amsterdam and I have a Mavo (nb Janey, it's a qualification - equivalent to an 'O' grade) in Dutch. When I lived there some people thought I was Dutch, that was how well I could speak the language. Not any more, unfortunately!

I think that that is enough for today.'

Thank you, thank you, you've been a wonderful audience. Ta da!

Sorry, that was Sylvia's question. Duh. Good word count, Janey!

Thanks for the translaton, McK.

I could understand a lot more than I had thought I would considering my german's very rusty and that's the closest I could come.

Fast off the mark? You betcha. Otherwise I'd blink and forget all about it.
